Looking further into the future, the company has confirmed that the next full update of the DAW will be to FL Studio 20. FL Studio 20 is here and has full Mac and Windows compatibility

Well, good news for you, as Image-Linehave released FL Studio 20, the first version of its Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) to include native Mac support. In 2014, Mac users were promised compatibility with FL Studio 12, but the program only reached the testing phase.

FL Studio 20 runs as a native 64-bit application for users of MacOS 10.11 or higher and supports Mac VST and AU plugins. Updated features include support for time signatures, freezing for audio and pattern clips to help reduce CPU load and a new playlist, ‘arrangements’, which includes a fresh layout of audio, automation and pattern clips.

For as little as $99 for the basic ‘Fruity Edition’, users receive a license for both Mac and Windows, allowing them to complete projects on both platforms interchangeably. If you prefer the full suite of instruments and plugins, like FL Studio ‘power users’ Martin Garrix, Madeon, Afrojack and Porter Robinson, then the $899 bundle might be for you. If you prefer just to test the platform out, there is a trial version available for free download.
